Two Youth Enroute Ganesh Immersion Die in Road Mishap Near Ranigunj

Hyderabad: Two youngsters identified as Chintala Nandu Goud, 24 and his friend K Dhruva Kumar, 24, who were on the way to tank bund to witness Ganesh immersion died in an accident near Ranigunj in the wee hours of Thursday.

Residents of Chinnathokatta of New Bowenpally in the city, the duo started from Dhruva Kumar’s home at around 1.30. Near RaniGunj on the MG Road, a speeding truck hit their scooter from rear, killing them on the spot, the police.

A case has been registered against the truck driver, who is on the run, said SI Paradesi John of Mahankali PS.

Nandu is studying MBA final year and Dhruva Kumar completed education. Both are friends from childhood and reside in the same locality. On Wednesday at around 11.45pm, Nandu informed his mother Indira, that he was going out and will return soon. Both spent some time at the latter’s home and at around 1.30am on Thursday, they informed Dhruva Kumar’s family that they were going to tank bund and left on Nandu’s scooter.

Meanwhile, around 4.45am on the MG road, a truck hit their scooter from behind killing them on the spot. Police found that after leaving their home, they moved around in different parts of Secunderabad and were heading towards Secunderabad.

Both families were shattered with the news of their death. Nandu’s mother Indira, a vegetable vendor said that while leaving home, he said that he will come back in a while. “ He is now gone forever,” she said.
