Depressed barber ends life over financial issues

Hyderabad: A 50-year-old barber ended his life over financial issues at his house at Rajunagar under Borabanda police station limits, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, the victim identified as Lingampalli Sarangapani died by committing suicide at his house.
“Sarangapani was alone at his house. His family members had gone to meet their relatives in the same locality on Tuesday night. After the family members returned home in the early hours of Wednesday, they found the bedroom door was locked from inside. They managed to break open the door and found Sarangapani dead. He worked as a barber in a saloon in Rajunagar and was upset for the past two months as he was unable to take care of his family due to his meagre earnings,” police said.
Sarangapani is survived by his wife Lingamapalli Nirmala and three children. He has been staying in a rented house along with his family in Rajunagar for the past six years
“We have recorded the statements of victim’s wife and their neighbours,” Kammala Ravi Kumar, Borabanda police inspector said.
A case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of the CrPC has been registered and the body has been shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.
