Terror groups targeting nationalists: Muralidhar
Chennai: Alleging that those who are completely nationalists have become the target of terror groups, BJP’s national general secretary P. Muralidhar Rao has claimed that pro-Pakistani ISI network and the ISIS related groups are working in Tamil Nadu to destabilise the nation.
He claimed that “radicalised Islam groups have been working in Tamil Nadu without any hindrance.” “In the last few years the message has gone to them that whatever they do, the officials will only blink and they will not act…that is the reason for number of casualties in Coimbatore, Vellore and Ramanathapuram,” Mr Rao alleged.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday he maintained that the pro-Pakistani ISI networks and the ISIS related certain groups are working in Tamil Nadu. “They are targeting the people who are against their ideology and whom they see as completely nationalist,” he said and condemned the murder of Hindu Munnani’s spokesman C. Sasikumar in Coimbatore.
Meanwhile, the core committee of the BJP met at the state headquarters – Kamalalayam here and discussed the strategy for facing the two-phased local
bodies elections next month.
The saffron party has already completed the process of receiving applications from aspirants keen on contesting the civic bodies elections on behalf of the party from Sept. 21 – 24.
“We have received a good number of applications from our party members who are interested in contesting the polls. We will announce the names of candidates soon,” party state president Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan informed. Mr Muralidhar Rao who is in-charge of Tamil Nadu affairs chaired the poll meeting in which senior leader L. Ganesan too partici-pated.
