Newborn girl dumped in Ameerabad fields

The baby was handed over to child protection department officials and after first aid, she was shifted to the Sishu Vihar at Sangareddy.

Hyderabad: A newborn girl was found abandoned in the cotton fields in Medak district on Tuesday. Villagers heard the baby crying and alerted the police. Police said that on Tuesday a farmer named Balraj from Ameerabad village in Nyalkal mandal, on way to his fields, heard the sound of a baby crying from nearby cotton fields. When he searched the fields he found a newborn girl lying on the ground wrapped in clothes. He informed the police immediately.

“The baby might have been born on Monday. Police teams are searching the medical records at the Bidar government hospital nearby to find out the parents,” Hadnoor sub-inspector K. Subhash said. The baby was handed over to child protection department officials and after first aid, she was shifted to the Sishu Vihar at Sangareddy. Police registered a case and has started investigations.
