Kozhikode Guest House staff still gush over their VVIP guest
KOZHIKODE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's stay at the Kozhikode Guest House was indeed a great opportunity for its staff. The PM asked his security officers to take a picture with them. He suggested a selfie before the Guest House and thanked each and every one of them personally for their service.
“We were not sure whether our Prime Minister would prefer to stay in our guest house as it was so many years back a Prime Minister stayed here. It was Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” one of them said. “We were anxious about the arrangements to be made for the PM, but the only instruction that we got from Delhi was a proper space for him to practice yoga and a peaceful area for meditation. He also preferred a few gym equipment like dumbbells and rings and surprisingly a businessperson from Kozhikode, Mr Sabith, came forward to sponsor it.”
Jinesh N., another staff, said, “The best thing that we liked is his generosity and simplicity, as he came to each one to greet us before he left. We were euphoric to take a photograph with the PM, who is a very charismatic personality.” Chefs were also brought from the Kannur Guest House to help the chefs here to prepare authentic Kerala cuisine as the PM demanded.
