Restart Model' programme to help MSMEs in AP

VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh is striving to promote the cause of energy efficiency through special programmes.

This was stated in a discussion state chief secretary Jawahar Reddy had with the CEO of EESL (Energy Efficiency Services Ltd) Vishal Kapoor on Sunday. He stressed the importance of implementing energy management systems to address climate change and sustain the economy.

Reddy suggested that EESL explore the possibility of providing the latest energy-efficient technologies for micro, small, and medium enterprises.

“Chief Minister Jagan Reddy holds a strong commitment to advancing the MSMEs and reinforcing their capabilities through the introduction of cutting-edge technologies. A testament to this commitment is the ‘Restart Model’ programme, a flagship initiative launched by the state government to fortify the MSMEs. As part of this initiative, the government is giving unwavering support to MSMEs,” the chief secretary noted.

He said the state energy department’s particular action plan in providing reliable and quality power supply to industries is quite successful and helped MSMEs to improve their production.

Vishal stated that as a cornerstone of India’s economy, the MSME sector grappled with diverse challenges from financial constraints to constrained market access. He praised AP’s proactive stance in the realm of energy efficiency and promotion of renewable energy sources.

The chief secretary thanked the Union Government for signing a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with EESL, in coordination with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency(BEE), for initiating a gigantic energy efficiency project in Jagananna Colonies. He urged EESL to coordinate with the secretary to the Industries and commerce, Yuvaraj, and Commissioner Praveen Kumar and prepare a road map for implementing energy efficiency in a cost-effective manner.
