Benny leaves wife Ancy, a nurse at Nottingham University Hospital, and their son Benson and daughter Benita.

Thiruvananthapuram : Two Kottayam natives were among the eight Indians killed in a road crash on the M1 highway at Buckinghamshire in the UK on Saturday.

They are Cherpunkal, Pala, native Cyriac Joseph alias Benny, 52, and Chingavanam native Rishi Rajiv.

Benny, who emigrated to the UK in 2005, owned a minicab business, ABC Travels at Nottingham, hired by an Indian family with their roots in Chennai.
Soyimon Joseph, his cousin, said his minivan was hired by the other family who also resided at Nottingham to Wembley in North West London where they were expected to go on a coach journey to France.

“Coinciding with the three day summer bank holiday, they hired the 16 seater minivan,” he told DC from London.

Benny leaves wife Ancy, a nurse at Nottingham University Hospital, and their son Benson and daughter Benita.

It will take two to three weeks to release the badly disfigured body to the family. The funeral is most likely to be held later at Nottingham by local Malayali priest Father Biju Kunnakattu, whom Benny had picked up from Birmingham airport a few days ago.

Nottingham Police has not revealed more details of other victims including Rajeev. The bodies are in four different hospitals.
