Seven more members to Kerala Public Service Commission

Pay revision for non academic staff of Centre for Development Studies.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Cabinet on Wednesday decided to recommend to the Governor to appoint seven members to existing vacancies in Public Service Commission (PSC). The seven members recommended are Dr K P Sajilal, associate professor, department of physical education, D B College Kottayam, P K Vijayakumar (Store Keeper, RVTI, Thiruvanathapuram, Dr D Rajan, assistant professor, Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, T R Anil Kumar, Sri Sankaracharya, University Library, Kalady, Mohammad Mustafa Kadambot, teacher, TSAM UP School, Othukkungal Malappuram, P H Muhammad Ismail, retired junior superintendent, PWD Aluva and former SFI leader Roshan Roy Mathew. Culture department secretary Rani George has been given additional charge of coir secretary.

OTHER DECISIONS:

New ITI to be set up at Dharmadom in Kannur: Three trades will be introduced here and 10 posts be created. ITIs to be set up in Perumatty in Palakkad and Vamanapuram in Palakkad with two trades each.

10 per cent increase in higher secondary seats: Higher secondary courses to be introduced in Model residential schools at Kuzhalmannam and Kulathupuzha following the recommendation of SC/ST development department.

Financial assistance: Cabinet sanctioned Rs 5 lakh to the family of NCP state president Uzhavoor who died last week. The amount is to meet the treatment expenses. Apart from it '10 lakh each would be given for the education of his two daughters.
