Probe on Dileep: Report on D-Cinemaas to be given by Tuesday

The detailed survey report will be handed over to the Collector after completing the calculation of the acquired measurements.

Thrissur: Revenue officials led by district survey superintendent conducted a re-survey at D Cinemaas in Chalakudy on Thursday as per the order of the revenue minister. The resurvey was based on a complaint that the actor had encroached on government land including a river bank near the theatre. The District Collector A. Kowsigan, who had been facing allegations of inordinately delaying restoration of allegedly encroached land by the actor, had instructed the survey officials not to make any statements on the survey to the media. Survey officials told this newspaper that all the measurements of the 680/1 and 680 in Kizhake Chalakudy Village (where D Cinemaas is located) was collected and by Tuesday.

The detailed survey report will be handed over to the Collector after completing the calculation of the acquired measurements. District Survey Superintendent R. Babu, District Land Revenue Commissioner V.C. Laila, Chalakudy Tah-sildar P.S. Madhuso-odhanan along with seven other officials were part of the survey. Meanwhile, the lawyer of complainant Santhosh of Aluva, Ayub Ghan, who visited the site on Thursday alleged that the survey was a farce and the officials did not even give an official intimation to the complainant.

“We submitted 59 documents to back our complaint during the UDF rule which has the complete history of the land that lies in Kizhake Chalakudy Village with survey numbers 680 and 680/1. In 1948, it was handed over to a royal family by Thiru Kochi government and there was another renewed order by Kerala government in 1964 which says that after the use by the royal family, the land must be returned to the government,” Mr Khan said. “First, a person managed to get 10 cents with the deed from the government violating this order and nine such 10 cent deeds were created and sold to owners of the D Cinemaas ," Ayub Khan told DC. Earlier, there was a survey and the then Collector M.S. Jaya sent a report favouring the actor and it was rejected by Land Revenue Commissioner, he noted.
