Three girls from Jammu and Kashmir NCC scale Mount Everest
Jammu: Three girl cadets of NCC from Jammu and Kashmir directorate, for the first time, have scaled the world’s highest peak Mount Everest.
"Three girl cadets of NCC Directorate from Jammu and Kashmir have made the state proud by scaling the Mount Everest. They were part of the first-ever all girls Mount Everest expedition of the NCC which scaled the summit on May 22," Udhampur-based defence spokesman Col S D Goswami said.
Stanzlin Laskit, Tashi Laskit and Tsering Angmo scaled the 8,848-metre peak, he said.
"All the three girls hail from Leh and are students of Class XII government higher Secondary School, Leh," he said.
These cadets had been training hard for the last two years and were selected after a very rigorous training and selection process.
