Bengaluru: The delay in availability of textbooks is a common complaint of students across the state. But now they needn’t worry.
For the first time, the state text book society and the DPI and Kannada and Culture department have joined hands to make text books available online for students between Std I and X on Kanaja, the encyclopaedic portal in Kannada, which has been developed along the lines of Wikipedia. Kanaja, which was first maintained by the city’s International Institute of Information and Technology, is now managed by the Department of Kannada and Culture. Students who did not get the text books on time can visit kanaja.in where text books of all the classes are uploaded on the PDF format, which can be downloaded easily. Till now only Kannada medium text books were available on kanaja.in.
