Hyderabad: Three held for robbing seniors
Hyderabad: The crime team of Gopalapuram police arrested a three-member gang on Thursday involved in robbery. The arrested suspects are Jetta Santosh Yadav, 25, an autorickshaw driver, Akula Nagaraju, 24, a labourer and Aanne Shiva, 19, a hotel worker. A suspect named Anjali is absconding. “The trio chalked out a plan to steal valuables from drunks and elderly individuals,” said north zone deputy commissioner of police B. Sumathi.
“On Thursday evening they robbed Rs 1,200 from a drunk person at Chilkalguda X Roads. They robbed an old person of '500 in March second week near the railway track at Allagaddabavi and shared the amount among themselves. On Sunday, Santosh Yadav and his wife Anjali grabbed a cellphone from a cab driver at the Gurudwara in Secunder-abad,” added the deputy commissioner. Gopalapuram police registered a case against the trio under Section 394 (inflicting injuries while committing robbery) and 392 (robbery) of IPC and sent them to judicial remand.
