MALAPPURAM: The district and sessions court in Manjeri on Thursday granted conditional bail to three RSS and VHP workers who were arrested in connection with the murder of Muslim convert Pullani Faisal in Kodinhi last year. The prime accused in the case Madathil Narayanan, 47, who is the Tirur Taluk Saha Karyavahak of the RSS, Kottashery Jayakumar, 48, Tirurangadi Taluk secretary of the VHP and K. Bipin, 26, RSS worker, have been granted bail by the court on two surety bonds of '1 lakh each. They have been asked to submit the title deed of the security.
The court has also asked the accused to appear before the investigation officers on every week for two months. They also need special permission from the district police chief to travel outside the district during the period. There are 16 accused in the case of whom 11 had earlier been granted bail by the same court in February. Two others were granted bail by the Parappanangadi first class judicial magistrate court. Faisal was murdered in the wee hours of November 19, 2016, at Farook Nagar in Kodinhi, a day before he was scheduled to fly back to Saudi Arabia where he was working as a driver.
