TTDC to roll out cool resorts' special

TTDC will offer three-day tours to five tranquil and all-time popular destinations of Ooty, Kodaikanal, Yercaud , Mysuru and Munnar.

Chennai: Wondering where to unwind this summer? Then try the ‘cool resorts’ special tours to be rolled out by the state-owned Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) within Tamil Nadu and inter-state trips, from April to June.

The corporation will offer three-day tours to five tranquil and all-time popular destinations of Ooty, Kodaikanal, Yercaud (and Hogenakkal), Mysuru (and Bengaluru) and Munnar. Visit to botanical gardens, boat rides, waterfalls, temples and wildlife sanctuary are included in the trips which begin on all Fridays from Chennai and include night halt at the respective destinations. They would return on the following Monday morning.

According to TTDC, the three-day trip to Ooty will cover botanical garden, boating, shopping, Dodabettah tea estate and rose garden and is priced at '5,200 for non-ac coach with non-ac accommodation and Rs 5,700 for ac coach and non-ac accommodation (both single accommodation). The tariff for double room occupancy on shared basis and for children are slightly lower. Similarly, the Kodaikanal tour covering pillar rock, green valley view, Coaker’s walk, boating and silver cascade is priced Rs 5,200 and Rs 5,800.

The three-days Yercaud-Hogenakkal covering visits to Gent's Seat, Lady's Seat, Pagoda point, Rose Garden, boating, Hogenakkal Cauvery waterfalls is priced Rs 4,750 and Rs 5,100 while the Mysuru-Bengaluru tour includes Chamundeswari temple, Nandhi, Mysuru Palace, shopping, Brindavan garden, Lal Bagh garden and shopping, comes with a tariff of Rs 4,600 and Rs 5,000 and three-days Munnar tour covers visit to Mattupatty dam, echo point, Eravikulam wildlife sanctuary, sight seeing view point and blossom park. It is priced at Rs 4,600.
