UDF not keen to pursue A K Saseendran row

Acting KPCC president M.M. Hassan said that since Saseendran, victim of an alleged honey-trap, has resigned, there is no point in pursuing the issue.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Congress is not keen on pursuing the A.K. Saseendran issue as the transport minister, the victim of an alleged honey-trap, has already resigned. This was stated by acting KPCC president M.M. Hassan after meeting former chief minister Oommen Chandy at the MLA quarters here on Monday. Mr Chandy was not present when Mr Hassan took over from Mr V.M. Sudheeran at the KPCC office here on Sunday. Mr Chandy was busy with a film shooting in Kottayam after which he flew to Mumbai. Mr Chandy returned here on Monday morning.

“The government is making only statements against the rise in the atrocities against women. Saseendran had to step down due to women-related issues. The political affairs committee will discuss the prevailing issues soon,” he said. Mr Chandy left for Kottayam after the meeting. Mr Hassan left for Malappuram on Monday night to coordinate the UDF campaigning. KPCC general secretary Thampanoor Ravi was also with Mr Hassan.
