KOZHIKODE: A march taken out by the activists of the Muslim Student Federation to the Collectorate demanding the resignation of Education Minister C. Raveendranath, turned violent on Monday and police used teargas. Many activists including state president Mishab Keezhariyur were injured. At the Collectorate, the police stopped the activists who took out the march from Eranhipalam. When they did not stop, they were lathicharged and later teargas was used.

Mr Mishab said that by walking out of the talks, the minister challenged the student community as a whole. He alleged that the “anti-student policies of the minister was crossing all limits. The government was trying to cover up the flaw in leaking of the question paper, using police force against the protesters.” Muslim Youth League state senior vice president Najeeb Kanthapuram, MSF district president Abdu Samad and general secretary Latheef Thurayur spoke after the march.
