\'Namami Govinda\' brand name of TTD’s Panchagavya products
TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) on Thursday formally launched its own Panchagavya products under the brand name ‘Namami Govinda’. This is the first time in history of devasthanams that it is venturing into unexplored waters of promoting worship of sacred cow across the world in a big way.
The TTD has also been exploring various projects to enhance its revenue sources. The latest is a manufacturing centre of Panchagavya products at its old DPW stores. The centre was formally inaugurated on Thursday jointly by TTD chairman Y.V. Subba Reddy and devasthanams executive officer K.S. Jawahar Reddy in presence of Tirupati MP M. Gurumoorthy, MLA Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and additional EO A.V. Dharma Reddy.
After inauguration of the Panchagavya unit, an MoU was signed for providing cashless treatment to TTD employees at 15 prominent hospitals. At the same time, sales of products manufactured with Dry Flower Technology provided by YSR Horticultural University also started.
Speaking on the occasion, the TTD chairman said about 15 Panchagavya products under brand name Namami Govinda will be made available to devotees at affordable prices. “Through these Panchagavya products, TTD aims to promote Gau Puja among devotees across the country. Technical support for the products is being provided by Coimbatore’s Aashirwad Ayurveda Pharmacy. All raw materials for Panchagavya products are sourced from TTD Goshalas,” Subba Reddy pointed out.
Underlining TTD’s emphasis on use of desi cow products in Srivari temple and cow-based organic products for preparing Naivedyam, TTD EO Jawahar Reddy disclosed that apart from signing an MoU with state government for supplying organic manure in coming days, devasthanams proposes to develop two modernised Goshalas, one each in both Telugu states. Youth will also be trained in manufacturing of Panchagavya products, he added.
