CM Stalin: Issue pending certificates in a month

Chennai: Chief Minister M K Stalin urged the authorities of the revenue and disaster management department to expeditiously issue the pending caste, nativity, income and inheritance certificates in the next one month to all those who had applied for them and had been waiting for a long time.

Reviewing the functioning of a slew of departments based on the data on the Chief Minister’s dashboard, on which the developments and action taken with regard to all the projects and departments are updated regularly, Stalin checked if the certificates were being issued on time by the revenue department.

On finding delays in the changing of pattas in the districts of Thanjavur, Coimbatore, Madurai, he instructed the officials to not cause any inconvenience to the people while rendering the services and gave them necessary advice on expediting their work.

Among the other departments whose activities came under the scrutiny of the Chief Minister on Monday were Municipal Administration and Drinking Water Supply, Home and Transport.

With regard to public transport, Stalin wanted adequate buses to be operated for the benefit of commuters. If sufficient buses could not be operated, the reasons for the shortage of buses should be found out immediately and rectified and basic amenities should be ensured for the travelling public at bus stands, he told the authorities.

The Chief Minister was particular about adopting modern methods in crime prevention by the Home Department, which was asked to complete all pending cases. He reviewed the data of incidents of crime in each and every district in the State.

By reviewing the work of the Municipal Administration on the basis of the date on the dashboard, the Chief Minister wanted municipal administration work and provision of water to households under the Jal Jeevan scheme should be expedited and in the districts of Vellore, Dharmapuri and Madurai.

He also reviewed the work taken up on constructing rainwater drains, underground sewage systems, road development and urban development.
