Value integrated module for TN teachers released

“District level committees will choose the teachers for the award which will carry Rs 10,000 as the cash prize and a certificate,†the minister said.

Chennai: School education minister K.A. Sengottaiyan has released value integrated teaching and the learning module for teachers to train them on how to inculcate good values among the school students.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday here he said, “This module and training will help the teachers to understand the students better and make the students’ service oriented.” The state government will give dream teacher awards to 192 teachers who have excelled in teaching, improved the enrollment of students and rendered social service.

“District level committees will choose the teachers for the award which will carry Rs 10,000 as the cash prize and a certificate,” the minister said. He also announced that the class 11 textbooks will carry a lesson on C.P. Adithanar, founder of Daily Thanthi for bringing reforms in Tamil fonts. “His reforms enabled even the ordinary people to read the newspapers,” Mr Sengottaiyan said.

He further said remaining 312 coaching centres for training students to prepare for competitive examinations like Neet will become operational by January 15.
Already 100 such centres are functioning throughout the state.
