Bengaluru: Electric! Maini stamp to buggies at railway stations
Come Wednesday, the IT capital will see a promise fulfilled – the City railway station will soon have electric buggies aka battery operated carts, with the Maini Group keeping its word to get Bengaluru on the right track with pollution free transport. Partnering with South Western Railway, Buggies will be available at all major Railway stations, starting with the carts at Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna Station on Wednesday.
"The carts will be available in the circulation area, that is from the entry points, going all the way inside to the platform area. It is not restricted to senior citizens or any specific commuters but can be hired at the cost of '20 per passenger," said Mr. NS Sridhar Murthy, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of South Western Railways.
There will be two launches, one by Sandeep Maini, Chairman of Maini Group and another at Platform 1 of City Railway station by Divisional Railway Manager of Bengaluru, RS Saxena.
Next on the cards is Yeshwanthpur Railway station where, to begin with, seven buggies will be launched.
