UDF doors are open for CPI: Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan
Kochi: The doors of United Democratic Front (UDF) remain open for the Communist Party of India (CPI), says Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan. The golden era in the politics of the state was when Congress and CPI worked in the same alliance, he said. “We should be able to work together again if not today, by tomorrow”, Radhakrishnan said.
He was addressing the state conference of the Revenue Department Staff Association at Kottayam on Sunday. Thiruvanchoor made the remarks in the presence of CPI assistant state secretary Prakash Babu. He also exchanged pleasantries with Babu before leaving the venue. The Congress leader made the remarks in the background of the growing differences between CPI and CPM in the state over many issues including the encroachment of government land in Idukki and the resignation of former transport minister Thomas Chandy.
