Parents of Kodi Kathi Seenu seek NOC from AP CM

Vijayawada: The Kodi Kathi case once again came to limelight with parents of the accused J. Srinivas Rao seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, so that their son could get bail in the case.

Srinivasa Rao, accused of attacking Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam Airport when he reached there while campaigning in the 2018 assembly general elections, has been a remand prisoner in Rajamahendravaram Central Jail for past four years.

Srinivas’s mother J. Savitri and brother Subbaraju, along with advocate Saleem, reached the CM's camp office at Tadepalli on Wednesday. Savitri said they have submitted their petition for NOC at the CM’s camp office as part of the Spandana programme.

She regretted that her son has continued to remain a remand prisoner for four years without bail. She threatened to commit suicide if Srinivas fails to return home on bail.

In their letter submitted at the CM’s office, parents of the accused appealed to the Chief Minister that he take pity on them, as it has become difficult for them to support themselves due to their old age.

Subbaraju, brother of accused Srinivas, said they have filed bail petitions seven times, but in vain. He said they have now submitted a requisition to CM Jagan, that he give them an NOC, which will help them get bail for his brother.

Advocate Saleem said an NOC from the CM is essential to get bail. He said CMO officials informed them that they stand a chance of meeting the CM another time. Saleem said they will once again visit the CM camp office after they receive confirmation about their appointment with the Chief Minister.
