Air India Express to launch direct flight to Sharjah from Vijayawada on Oct. 31

Vijayawada: India’s first international budget airline, Air India Express, has announced the launch of its direct flight from Vijayawada to Sharjah. The inaugural flight would take off at 6.35pm on Oct. 31.

The fares for the Vijayawada-Sharjah sector begin at Rs 13,669 and for the Sharjah-Vijayawada sector, it would be 399 UAE dirhams.

Air India Express is the only airline that offers international services in and out of Vijayawada. In addition to Sharjah, it also operates flights from Vijayawada to Muscat and Kuwait with a B737-800 NG aircraft.

The direct flights to the three locations will be beneficial to many people hailing from Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, Parvathipuram, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Anakapalle, Kakinada, East Godavari, West Godavari, Konaseema, Eluru, Krishna, NTR, Guntur, Bapatla, Palnadu, Prakasam and Sri Potti Sriramulu districts.

The airline’s CEO Aloke Singh said, “The direct service to Sharjah will be beneficial to those traveling to the UAE particularly to Dubai and the Northern Emirates.”
