Rambha seeks interim maintenance from hubby
Chennai: Actor Rambha, who approached family court seeking direction to her estranged husband to stay together, has filed another petition in the court seeking interim maintenance of Rs 2.50 lakh every month from him.
In the interim application, Vijayalakshmi alias Rambha, 39, has stated that she filed the main petition under section 6 of Hindu Marriage Act in the family court with a prayer for restitution of conjugal rights. She was acting in films continuously till the marriage with P. Indrakumar 47, a Canada-based businessman, in Saligramam on April 8, 2010.
“After the wedding, I stopped acting in films. Now, I do not have sufficient income to maintain myself and my two minor daughters. My eldest daughter now studying in Chennai Public School and her annual fees is Rs 3.5 lakh. My second daughter needs to undergo medical treatment continuously. Hence, I need Rs 2.5 lakh towards maintenance of myself and my daughters,” she said.
Indrakumar, owner of Magickwood Factory, was earning about Rs 25 lakh. He is duty bound to pay the interim maintenance every month pending disposal of the main petition, she added.
