KOZHIKODE: The Kudumbashree members working in the Corporation limits handed over more than 1000 sets of good quality clothes for men, women and children on Tuesday to Rohingya refugees. Corporation Deputy Mayor Meera Dharshak handed over the clothes to the Government representative who will distribute these clothes to the refugees.
Speaking on the occasion, Meera Dharshak said, “It is a great project undertaken by the Kudumbahsree members to distribute these clothes to Rohingya refugees. Since everyone has old clothes which remain inside the cupboard unused, it is a good decision to hand them over to those who are in need.” The members in several teams, visited houses in their locality and collected clothes for all genders. Later these clothes were washed and pressed and given a fresh look before handing over.
