KCR asks staff to hurry up to find new vice-chancellors

The search process has been set back due to the coronavirus outbreak

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao has instructed
his staff to expedite the process of appointing vice-chancellors to various universities in the state. He asked chief secretary Somesh Kumar to personally supervise the process.

In a meeting at Pragati Bhavan Wednesday, the chief minister said search committees have already been constituted to nominate eligible candidate. But the process has been delayed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

Howevver, it was time to go through the process, Chandrashekar Rao said.

The chief minister also had discussions with ministers and MLAs with regard to the government's strategy for the monsoon session of the Assembly, which is scheduled to commence from September 7.
