Plea for house-site \'pattas\' to Burma colony inmates

In their memorandum to the district collector S. Sivarasu, they pointed out that for the last 30 years the project was pending.

TIRUCHY: A group of farmers and villagers representing 'Cauvery-Uppaaru Neer Thekka Inaippu Joint Movement' led by A. Ganesan and Jayaraman president and coordinator respectively, appealed to the Tiruchy district administration to build a sub-canal from Cauvery to Uppaaru Neer Thekkam (Dam) and to divert surplus flows from Cauvery river to avoid waste flows into the sea.

In their memorandum to the district collector S. Sivarasu, they pointed out that for the last 30 years the project was pending and if the district administration initiated action to complete the project, number of irrigation tanks at Pulivalam, Peramangalam, Siruppathur will receive adequate water beside the groundwater recharged for 30 villages in that area.

Residents of Lalgudi appealed to remove two State-run Tasmac liquor shops near the railway over-bridge as it caused hindrance to the movement of women and school children.

Tiruverumbur DMK MLA Mahesh Poyyamozhi in his memorandum to the district collector, urged to set up a primary health centre with a maternity ward at suburb Ariyamangalam, renovate the Anna Nagar roads immediately and to issue house-site 'pattas' to poor inmates of Burma colony. Collector assured to do the needful.
