Digital Telangana: Here\'s how govt\'s initiative \'DEET\' is aiding employees, employers

By liaising with these departments, the state wants to create multiple job opportunities and connect them to the right job seekers.

Telangana: Realising the importance of technology, Telangana government has taken the initiative called 'Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana' (DEET) that acts as a network connecting the employers to the prospective job seekers.

Under this program, the government has collaborated with different state departments. By liaising with these departments, the state wants to create multiple job opportunities and connect them to the right job seekers.

The Telangana government, in partnership with StoryTech Private Limited, has built a platform 'Workfruit' which is an AI-enabled recruitment app that instantly connects jobseekers and employers right at their fingertips with a simple swipe right to get matched approach.

It provides a seamless friction-free experience for job seekers and job providers.

Why DEET?

DEET connects job seekers to employers based on artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics. The results obtained have high relevancy and match the requirements of both the job seekers and employers. DEET wanted to include everyone - from unemployed, employed looking for a change, under-employed applicants, skilled, and semi-skilled unskilled.

Although several states have their own employment exchanges, it takes ages for a job seeker to find a suitable role for them.

This is where DEET comes in handy. Since everything is digitized, it will only take one-tenth of the time to make the right match between the employer and the job seeker.

Also, the state has a record of every job seeker, this ensures that not one applicant slips through the gap, thereby drastically increasing the probability of them finding a suitable job.

By including a much larger group, DEET wants to provide employment opportunities to each and everyone in the Telangana state.

From a labourer to a construction worker, a teacher to an IT professional, attenders to CFO, irrespective of the profile, DEET includes everyone under its broad umbrella.

By taking this initiative in DEET, Telangana State will not only become a pioneer to initiate such a program it will also be the only state to have a dedicated program focussed on recruitment.

DEET and the Telangana State

Taking into consideration the technological-boom Telangana State has been witnessing in recent years, it is evident that there is a growing requirement for manpower.

While the job seekers are looking for the perfect job, there are also employers looking to hire the perfect fit for their company.

This is where DEET comes in and by connecting the employers with the job seekers, DEET is not only bridging a gap but also creating an economic opportunity to uplift the people of Telangana state.

From the retail industry to healthcare, hospitality to manufacturing, services to F&B, DEET includes every industry under it, while also giving only relevant searches for the requirements.

Whatever you are looking for, DEET is the answer - creating a bridge between the need and requirement.

Since the launch

Since DEET has been launched about 6 weeks ago, it has already generated over 40,000+ vacancies in the private sector.

Companies like Apollo Hospitals, Yashoda Hospitals, IKYA Human Capitals, Karvy, Reliance Retail Limited, PVR Cinemas, G4S Security Services, Asian Paints, Fulcrum, GMR Group, Talent Sprint, Mind Tree, Swiggy, TVS Group, Uber are actively hiring through the platform.

There is a lot of demand for applications with Sales & Marketing, Service Delivery, Business Development, Information Technology (IT), Retail, Education, Engineering, Communication, Security, Distribution Management, Logistics, Telecommunications background.

How DEET Works?

By employing advanced artificial intelligence along with machine learning and data analytics, DEET also uses geolocation to give results based on location.

Once the candidate enrolls on the app, depending upon the applicants’ location, they will get highly relevant results that match the requirements. Along with high-relevant results, the candidates are also alerted about job fairs, recruitment drives, mass recruitments that happen in and around them. The app works similarly for employers. By sifting through thousands of applicants, DEET will show only those applications that are relevant to the employers.

With just one app, the government of Telangana intends to solve the unemployment problem.

By bringing different industries under one branch, DEET wants to give more opportunities to the job seekers while broadening the horizons of the employer by giving them ample options to choose from.
