‘Crowbar’ jumbo sedated in Hosur gifted to MTR

K.K. Kaushal, field director of MTR, said that the elephant was brought from Hosur and released in the MTR on the farther side.

Ooty: 'Crowbar', the problematic wild elephant which was captured and radio-collared in the Hosur limits in Krishnagiri district early on Sunday morning was shifted to the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve (MTR), and during an overnight operation, released into the MTR woods, though residents around the MTR fringes expressed apprehensions about this.

The MTR management, which kept a studious silence on the arrival of 'Crowbar' into MTR woods on Sunday, swung into action during the night and shortly after midnight, released the elephant in the deep woods region in the MTR.

Mr. K.K. Kaushal, field director of MTR, said that the elephant was brought from Hosur and released in the MTR on the farther side, adding it will be continuously tracked.
