Kodiyeri Balakrishnan would pay back' CPM defectors, says BJP
Kasargod/ Kannur: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s controversial ‘pay back’ call is warning to those who have defected from the CPM, according to BJP national committee member V. Muraleedharan. “The LDF government has proved within 50 days of assuming power that it is a complete failure,” he said addressing the BJP Kasargod district committee meeting on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had lost confidence in his finance minister and that was why he had appointed noted economist Gita Gopinath as his adviser, he said. “The CPM central leadership and Marxist economist Prabhat Patnaik have opposed the decision. This has proved that the LDF ministers and leaders are saying and committing blunders. They say something and implement something else,” he added.
In Kannur, Congress leader K. Sudhakaran alleged that Mr Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s statement had proved that the CPM had trained squads to attack or eliminate political rivals. “The CPM state secretary should have upheld the dignity of the position he was holding,” Mr Sudhakaran added. Kannur DCC president K. Surendran alleged that both the RSS and the CPM were equally responsible for stirring the politics of violence and vengeance.
