Education minister C Raveendranath to launch PRISM
KOZHIKODE: Education Minister Prof. C Raveendranath will inaugurate the new High School building and lay the foundation stone for the multipurpose building at Karaparamba Government Higher Secondary School as part of the ‘Promoting Regional Schools to International Standard through Multiple Intervention’ (PRISM) project envisaged by Kozhikode North MLA A Pradeep Kumar.
Karaparamba will be the third school after Nadakkav GGHSS and Medical College Campus HSS to be raised to international standards in the constituency. Addressing the press here on Tuesday, MLA A Pradeep Kumar said that within five years, the School will be in the list of top schools in the country.
“Unlike the previous two schools where we implemented PRISM, Karaparamba will remain an exclusive Malayalam medium school. However we will also ensure the students excel in English by giving special training in communicative English,” said Pradeep Kumar. Apart from two new blocks for High School and HSS wings, the School will be equipped with a Basketball court with gallery, separate toilet blocks for girl and boy students, indoor stadium, dining hall, kitchen, hall, compound wall library and reading garden.
The construction of the building has been made possible by using Rs five crore from the state government as part of the PRISM project and Rs two crore from LAC Asset Development Fund. The inaugural function will be held at the School on Thursday at 3 pm. Kozhikode mayor Thottathil Raveendran will be the chief guest. Kozhikode MP M.K Raghavan will deliver the keynote address.
