HYDERABAD: BRS MLC Padi Kaushik Reddy strongly condemned the allegations levelled by Etala Jamuna, the wife of BJP MLA Etala Rajender, that he (Kaushik Reddy) had conspired to kill her husband in a Rs 20-crore deal. The charge was repeated later by Rajendar himself.
Speaking to media personnel at the BRS Legislative Party office here on Wednesday Kaushik Reddy said Rajendar was known for 'murder politics' and, in a counter, said he feared for his life.
"Murder politics has no place in Telangana's history and culture. It's Etala, who indulged in murder politics in the Huzurabad constituency. During the 2014 elections, Rajender eliminated a local leader, Balraj. He brought pressure on police to use third-degree against Praveen Yadav, a Telangana protagonist, who opposed him. Unable to bear this torture, Pravaeen died by suicide.
Rajendar tried to kill me during the 2018 Assembly polls," Kaushik Reddy alleged. "Rajendar is now losing people's trust in Huzurabad. I am extensively touring the constituency, mingling with people and resolving long-pending issues which Rajendar had failed to address even after people elected him multiple times and even working for MLA and minister for nearly 20 years.”
Kaushik Reddy claimed that Rajendar was bound to lose Huzurabad in the upcoming polls. “I fear that he may eliminate me to avoid defeat," he said.
