Bear dies in rescue bid by forest officials
The death of the bear was caused when forest officials tried trap it.
Kurnool: A wild bear ventured out of the Nallamala forest and created panic among the locals at Velugodu village on Monday evening died on Tuesday late night.
The death of the bear was caused when forest officials tried to trap it. The bear played truant and ducked inside a pipeline. The forest officials said they laid nets on both sides of pipeline where the bear ducked.
But it gave a skip and managed to sneak into another pipe, said forest official. As a last resort officials procured an excavator to turn pipe down to facilitate scrawl of bear but it failed leading to death of bear, the official said.
