Hyderabad: In yet another case of the shocking neglect by civic authorities of the problem of stray dogs, a seven-year-old boy returning home after offering Ramzan prayers died after being attacked by stray dogs in Shameerpet.
Farooq, his two sisters and father Imam, went to offer prayers near a dargah. They were returning when three dogs attacked the boy. His father and others came to his aid and chased away the dogs. Farooq was rushed to a private clinic, from where he was taken to a private hospital in Medchal.
He was shifted later to Fever Hospital in Nallakunta and then to Niloufer Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. Farooq is the only son of Imam and Khadir Bee, who work as daily wage earners and are residents of Mooduchintalapally in Shameerpet.
