Kochi: The city corporation is planning to try out one more technology for mosquito eradication. As per the invitation of the mayor, representatives of a US based private firm – Trident Nature Technologies made a presentation on the organic and non-toxic solution mosquito repellent. The company is using non-toxic solution and portable backpack mist blowers to make the city areas free of mosquitoes.
During the presentation, company representatives claimed that it has been successfully carrying out vector control in Bandra – Kurla Complex and VIP residential complex Jethwan in Maharashtra, farmhouses in New Delhi and some major hospitals and hotels in Mumbai and Chennai. In Kerala, the technology is being used in Perinad panchayat in Pathanamthitta.
