Hyderabad: Researcher at ISB falls to death from 9th floor

The Chaitanya Bayanwala of the dead man was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem.

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old research associate at the Indian School of Business in Gachibowli was found dead under suspicious circumstances on Saturday night. Police said that Chaitanya Bayanwala from Siliguri in West Bengal fell from the ninth floor of the apartment he was residing in.

According to police, Chaitanya and his two friends, Piyush and Swapnil, lived in a rented flat in Hill Ridge Springs, a gated community in Gachibowli.

On Saturday night, they decided to stay in and Piyush and Swapnil went out together to get some beer around 7.40 pm. On their return, a neighbour called Piyush and told him that Chaitanya fell from the flat.

They rushed to the spot and found Chaitanya lying in a pool of blood. They took him to Care Hospital in Madhapur where he was declared brought dead.
Police inquiries revealed that Chaitanya had moved into the flat nine months ago.

Mobile phone was locked, says police
He was active on WhatsApp till 9.09 pm that night and accessing WhatsApp through the WhatsApp web on his desktop system. “We could not access his mobile phone as it was locked. We suspect he accidentally fell from the balcony. We are looking for more clues,” said Gachibowli sub-inspector K. Rajendra.

There are no CCTV cameras in the apartment complex. Based on a complaint from Swapnil, a case of suspicious death was registered by the police. The body of the dead man was handed over to his relatives after post-mortem.
The police is investigating the case from all possible angles.
