TSRTC employees demand leave encashment pending since 2014

Hyderabad: Appreciating the management for running Sankranti specials, which fetched the corporation₹165.46 crore in 11 days, employees of TSRTC on Monday demanded payment of leave encashment dues that have been pending since 2014.

The only state-owned public transport service, which has been running in losses since the creation of Telangana State has 45,000 employees on its rolls.

C. Nagan Krishna, conductor, said, “Approximately nine leave encashment dues remain unpaid since 2014, as are two pay revision commissions (PRC), two dearness allowance (DA) instalments and the 50 per cent bonds on PRC. We urge the management to immediately clear the amounts.”

Former RTC board director M. Nageswararao said, “Given the increase in its earnings, all categories of employees are anxiously waiting for the payments. Moreover, as the wages of RTC employees are extremely low when compared to other government or other public sector undertakings, this money will come in handy for them.”

TSRTC operated 4233 buses to cater to the Sankranti rush. It’s earning of ₹165.46 crore is ₹62.29 crore more than the amount earned last Sankranti.
