Official Pushes Tech in Kalingapatnam Aquaculture Boom

Visakhapatnam: Fisheries secretary Dr Abhilaksh Likhi visited Kalingapatnam's thriving shrimp farms, urging industry transformation through cutting-edge technology.
He championed a four-step approach harnessing biofloc and advanced tech: IoT water monitoring, automatic feeders, and central drainage. Dividing ponds into low- and high-density zones optimizes yield and quality.
Kalingapatnam's 1,000+ acre hub, boasting strong feed-mill connections, churns out a staggering 40,000 tonnes of 20-gram prawns annually, valued at Rs. 10,000 crore. Over 600 farmers and 5,000 workers directly benefit from this aquaculture powerhouse.
