HYDERABAD: A 51-year-old man who was undergoing treatment at the Erragadda Mental Hospital died on Monday after choking on a boiled egg, the police said.
The patient, K. Anji, was not able to swallow it or throw it up, as it was stuck in his windpipe, the police said.
While the duty doctors were gradually able to induce Anji to vomit, he was in a state of panic and died due to shortness of breath.
The SR Nagar police registered a case of suspicious death and shifted the victim's body to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
