3-day Weekend Draws Tourists to Vizag

Visakhapatnam: The three-day weekend has witnessed a rush of tourists in Visakhapatnam, with major spots like Kailasagiri, Tenneti Park and beaches witnessing huge crowds of picnickers. The Karthika Poornima on Sunday also drew devotees to temples across the city.

Devotees flocked to temples and proceeded to beaches for their holy bath during the Karthika month. They thronged the Bheemunipatnam, Yarada, Rushikonda and R.K. beaches.

The picturesque stretch from NTR Statue to Park Hotel Junction became a vibrant scene, with landmarks like Kursura submarine museum and Visakha Museum witnessing high footfalls.

People from Chodavaram, Pendurthi, Anandapuram, Bheemunipatnam, Gajuwaka, Tagarapuvalasa, and Anakapalli arrived via various modes of transportation, including auto rickshaws and cabs. They engaged in lively activities, such as tambola and anthakshari, fostered a festive atmosphere.

Popular destinations beyond the city, such as Borra Caves, Araku, and Lambasinghi, experienced a tourism boom. Notably, Borra Caves witnessed around 9,000 visitors in the last two days, while Lambasinghi saw an impressive count of 10,000 tourists.
