Advanced technology for policing in AP, says DIG

Kakinada: Eluru Range DIG Ashok Kumar has said a special policy is being framed by using advanced technology to protect the safety of the police personnel and avoid hindrances to road traffic.

Special attention is being paid to curb the cultivation, consumption and transportation of ganja, he said.

The DIG inspected Peddapuram police station on Wednesday along with the Kakinada district SP, Satish Kumar. He said the police personnel are being given CC cameras, helmets and bodyguards to save them from accidents.

“Though there is a shortage of personnel, all steps are being taken to strengthen the policing,” he said.

He said if police personnel died on duty, their families would be given a financial assistance upto Rs 30 lakh, insurance amounts and job to his wife or another family member.

Information on ganja transport or canja consumption may be provided to the police through toll free number 14500, he said.

He said two police personnel have been deployed at each police station to curb and investigate cybercrimes. Those who lost their money from the bank accounts or ATMs can contact the cyber police via toll free number 10309. Immediate action would follow.

An additional circle inspector post and two assistant sub-inspector posts have been sanctioned to Peddapuram police station, he said.

Ashok Kumar asked the Peddapuram police to pay proper attention to the investigations and file inquiry reports in cheating and land related cases. Special vigil should be kept on theft cases.
