CM Jagan to inaugurate power plant at Nelatur on Thursday

Vijayawada: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is scheduled to visit Nellore on Thursday, for inauguration of the 800megawatt third unit of AP Genco at Nelatur. He would also address a public meeting there.

This is the second tour of the CM to Nellore in recent times. He went to Nellore to inaugurate the Sangam and Nellore barrages and addressed a public meeting a month ago.

The CM would start at 9.30am on October 27 from Gannavaram airport and reach the helipad at Krishnapatnam at 11.10am. The CM will dedicate the 800 megawatt AP Genco project’s third unit and address the from 11.10am to 1.10pm. He would start at 1.35pm from Nelaturu and reach Tadepalli at 3.30pm.

Party sources said the CM is concentrating on strengthening the party in all districts and wishing to gauge the mood of the masses. Hence the press meets during the programmes. This apart, the public meetings are giving a chance to him to reply to the allegations from opposition parties.

Analysts say Nellore district is a bastion of YSRC as the party won all the ten MLA seats in the 2019 elections in a clean sweep, decimating the Telugu Desam, Jana Sena, BJP and other parties. The CM wished to continue the hold on this region and hence concentrating on the completion of various pending projects.

As part of this endeavour, the pending Sangam and Nellore barrages were completed and now the work on the 800mw plant. The CM will increase the tempo of his tour of districts in the coming days under the ‘Mission 175- Elections 2024’ strategy.
