Kerala: Vigilance probe against CBI non-payment
Kochi: The special cell of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has registered a case against Superintendent of Police (SP) Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Ernakulam district collector for the non-payment of Rs 9.49 lakhs by CBI officials for staying in the Rest House of Public Works Department in Ernakulam. Case has also been registered against PWD officials in Ernkaulam.
CBI is facing the allegation that its officials occupied room numbers 18 and 19 in the PWD Rest House from September 16, 1999 to October 18, 2007 without paying any rent. The CBI was not having any valid order from the State Government in this regard. The case was registered after the Muvattupuzha vigilance court gave a direction in this regard. The VACB had earlier conducted a quick verification and filed a report in the Vigilance Court.
