K Surendran flays CM Pinarayi Vijayan, rejects O Rajagopal's view
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state general secretary K. Surendran has come down heavily on Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan saying that he had failed as a chief minister. This is contrary to the view expressed by BJP MLA O. Rajagopal on Monday that Pinarayi had proved to be the best chief minister. Surendran, in a Facebook post, practically rebutted the veteran BJP leader’s statement.
Surendran said Pinarayi is unaware of the dignity of the seat he is occupying. He also opined that Pinarayi is weak and that the words he has used against the Opposition show his weakness and not his strength. Surendran recalled the nepotism row which led to the resignation of industries minister E. P. Jayarajan. It shows the CM’s naivety of what’s happening in his cabinet, he said.
“While appointing PSU heads, it is clear that vigilance clearance has to be taken. Similarly Pinarayi feigns ignorance on phone tapping when he is holding the Home ministry. So how can Pinarayi act stronger when he doesn’t seem to know what’s happening in his cabinet as well as in his own portfolios,” said Surendran.
He also said that Pinarayi will be etched in history books as the worst Chief Minister Kerala had ever seen. It may be recalled that Rajagopal’s visit to AKG Bhavan to congratulate Pinarayi before his swearing in as CM had snowballed into a major controversy in the BJP camp.
