KAKINADA: Charges filed by CBI against Andhra Pradesh NIT Director (Tadepalligudem) Dr CSP Rao have been proven and he was terminated from the post. Departmental action would be initiated against him by his parent Institute (NIT-Warangal) as per Central Civil Services Rules.

The salary in lieu of the three months’ notice shall be kept on hold till finalization of disciplinary proceedings against him. Joint secretary to central government, Saumya Gupta, issued the orders.

Dr CSP Rao was suspended on 30, March, 2022 and later the director of the Nagpur-based Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Pramod Madhukar Padole was appointed as director in-charge of the NIT. He will continue to hold the additional charge in AP until further orders or on joining as a regular director in NIT, whichever is earlier.

CSP Rao was appointed as director of NIT- AP on 19, March, 2018. Later, there were complaints against Rao and the CBI has inquired into the allegations against him.

Considering the prima facie material and the grave charges in the FIRs lodged by the CBP, Dr Rao was placed under suspension in March, 2022 and then suspended. A one-man committee was constituted to probe the allegations.
