Hyderabad: Three killed as heavy rain wreaks havoc

Hyderabad: A priest from Pochampally in Yadadri district died after he fell into an open Nala at Nagole in LB Nagar on Tuesday night, during heavy rains. His relative, who also fell in the drainage managed to come out, but the victim got washed away for about 100 meters and his body was recovered during we hours, said LB Nagar police.

LB Nagar inspector V. Ashok Reddy said the incident took place at Nagole at around 11.30 pm on Tuesday. Two persons, B. Prem Kumar Sastri, 43 and his nephew J. Ramakrishna Sastry, both working as priests and residents of Pochampally mandal in Yadadri district, were waiting on the road to go to Hayathnagar.

In another incident, an old lady was killed on Wednesday after a wall collapsed on her due to ongoing rains in Mahmood Nagar, Kishan Bagh under Bahadurpura Police Station limits.

According to local residents Mansoora Begum (65), wife of Mohammed Abdul, was in the house when the wall of her house collapsed in the evening at 7:30.

She was rushed to Osmania General Hospital where she breathed her last. Bahadurpura Police registered a case.

In another inident on On Tuesday night, a fitness trainer from Kolkata died of electrocution at Madhapur, when he stepped on an iron rod while returning to his hostel on Tuesday night during the heavy downpour.

Madhapur police said has been identified as Adam Mark Jordan, 23, working at a fitness
centre at Kondapur and was living in a men’s Hostel at Guttala Begumpet.
