CMRS inspection of Kochi Metro Reach II begins
KOCHI: The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety on Monday started the final safety inspection along the Palarivattom – Maharajas stretch of the Kochi Metro. The inspection began from Jawaharlal Nehru stadium station and the CMRS team headed by K.M. Manoharan did a thorough inspection at the first station on technical and safety aspects as well as on facilities and accessibility for passengers.
KMRL MD Elias George received the team at JLN stadium station. After the inspection of first station at 4 pm, the team moved to MG Road station. The inspection will continue on Tuesday from MG Road and continue through viaduct to Maharajas station. This will be followed by dynamic trials and visit to the operation control centre. After receiving the safety clearance, the Kochi Metro Rail Limited authorities will open the route for traffic. As per the current plans, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will commission the stretch on October 3.
