BJP resolves strong reply to Pakistan
KOZHIKODE: BJP president Amit Shah has termed Uri terror strike as a “transit destination in the war forced on India.” BJP national council also passed a resolution describing the attack that killed 18 soldiers as the neighbouring country’s “cowardice as well as a mysterious behaviour.” Mr Shah said India had warned Pakistan that it would give a “strong” response. Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country, he said, and no power in the world could snatch it. He said India had killed 117 terrorists in the last eight months, which shows a marked increase in the number of conflicts compared to previous years.
“In the last eight months, terrorists have attempted 17 times to violate our borders and infiltrate into India which was successfully foiled by our security forces,” he said. “Uri attack is a result of their frustration only. It is a long drawn battle thrust on us by our neighbour.” Asserting that it was a temporary setback, and the final victory would be India’s, he said the Prime Minister had promised that its perpetrators should not go unpunished. He alleged that Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had endorsed terrorism in the UN general assembly by calling Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani a shantipriya (peace loving) leader.
Mr Shah offered all support to the government's diplomatic efforts to expose Pakistan. He said the offensive had succeeded in showing “the true face of Pakistan’s policy of promoting terrorism before the world and isolating Pakistan globally.” "The BJP and the central government have from the beginning adopted a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. We shall give a strong response to defeat the designs of the terrorists."
