Maoists warn MLA to pay back RFCL jobless
WARANGAL: Maoists have warned Ramagundam MLA Korakanti Chander Patel to pay back ₹45 crore that he had collected from unemployed youth for providing jobs in Ramagundam Fertiliser Company Limited (RFCL) in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
In a letter released on Thursday, Venkatesh, secretary of Bhupalpally-Mahabubabad-Warangal-Peddapalli division committee of banned Maoist group, went on to mention names of MLA's relatives and followers, apart from company contractors, who had lured around 790 unemployed youth into paying them ₹4 lakh to ₹7 lakh each for getting appointed in RFCL.
Later, when the Gujarat-based company’s contract got over, these youth lost their jobs one by one. When the job losers contacted Chander Patel to return their money, he began threatening them and lodged false cases against the youth, the Maoist leader stated.
He demanded that the MLA pay back the jobless, or he, his relatives and followers will face the necessary consequences.
Incidentally, opposition parties and some peoples’ organisations have made similar allegations against the Ramagundam MLA. They had gone on to challenge Chander Patel for an open discussion in front of the RFCL gate a few days ago. But police did not allow any such meeting to protect law and order in the industrial area.
