K M Mani tells CPI not to preach
Kottayam: Kerala Congress (M) chairman K.M. Mani said that the CPI need not preach political morality to his party. He alleged that the CPI has a track record of selling Lok Sabha seats. Speaking to reporters at his residence in Pala, Mr Mani said that he is not aware about the CPI turning antagonistic towards the KC (M). "The KC (M) is not going anywhere. We don’t have the character of those who sold a Parliament seat," Mr Mani told reporters.
“The KC (M) has maintained that we are having an independent stand. The CPI should not write beyond the walls," he said. Mr Mani ruled out that the party will go with the LDF. Mr Mani’s statement came in the wake of party leader Joy Abraham MP making it clear on Wednesday that the party will not cajole anyone to take the KC (M) into an alliance. The CPI state executive held on Wednesday had rejected the stand of the CPM and the party mouthpiece that there can be an issue based relation with the KC(M). The party executive made it clear that KC(M) will not be taken into the LDF.
